What we stand for
New Light Academy is a Christian nursery and primary day school in Kinyinya, Gasabo. Our motto is “The Lord Is My Shepherd”, and it shapes the way we teach: children are known by name, guided with patience and encouraged to be kind, honest and curious. We are an inclusive school, accredited by NESA, and we follow the Rwanda national curriculum from the nursery classes through to P6, so that every pupil is ready for the Primary Leaving Examination and for the years that come after it.

Our graduates
Children leave us curious, confident and ready for the next step in their learning, whether that step is moving up from Top Class into P1 or finishing P6 and going on to secondary school. We follow the Rwanda national curriculum and prepare every pupil for the Primary Leaving Examination at the end of P6.
Alongside their lessons, children grow in character. We encourage active learning, curiosity and the development of strong foundational skills in reading, writing and numeracy, and we give the same attention to the habits that carry a child further: listening well, working with others, asking questions and finishing what they start.
Our community
New Light Academy is in Kinyinya, a short walk from the Kinyinya bus station, so the school is easy to reach for drop-off, for pick-up or for a visit. Being close by is part of what makes a school feel like one community: parents, teachers and children who know one another.
In the classroom we encourage active learning, curiosity and the development of strong foundational skills, with practical activities suited to the age of each class. Beside reading, writing and numeracy we give the same attention to how children treat one another, because kindness, respect and confidence are what make a classroom a good place to learn.
Health & Safety
Your child’s health and safety come first. We want every child to feel settled and cared for while they are with us, in classrooms that are calm and well kept.
We are accredited by NESA, Rwanda’s National Examination and School Inspection Authority, for pre-primary and primary education, and we work to the standards that accreditation asks of us.
